Wenli Zou studied optics in the Department of Physics of Nankai University as an undergraduate student between 1994 and 1998. After graduating from the Institute of Optics of Nankai University with a PhD degree in 2003, he pursued postdoctoral researches about computational methods of theoretical chemistry in College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University (2003-2007), Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Texas at Austin (2007-2010), and Department of Chemistry, Southern Methodist University (2010-2015). In 2016 he joined Northwest University. His main research fields include (1) relativistic quantum chemistry, (2) molecular vibration and bonding, and (3) High-precision simulation of excited states and UV-Vis spectra of small molecules. He also participates in the development of China-made quantum chemistry software BDF.
