报告题目:How theorists contribute to discover toponium at the LHC?

报告摘要: In 2019, experimentalists studying top quark pair production at the LHC reported an anomaly in the di-leptonic decay channels. They observed excess of events when di-leptons have small relative angles or small invariant mass. In 2021, we showed that the anomaly can be a signal of toponium formation, with the cross section of about 6.4pb. In 2025, both ATLAS and CMS experiments reported observation of toponium like events with expected cross section. Toponium physics is governed by QCD, and hence each state has definite spin, P and C parities. We are now exploring the possibility of exploiting toponium as a probe of new physics beyond the SM.
